A day to honor our veterans

Today, we went to the VA hospital to honor the American Military Veterans. As we wait for the parade to start we walked around the grounds surrounded by several military both young and old. We came across this "In memory" plaque and statue and as I turn around there was Shae putting her flag into the ground along side the others. It was a touching moment to see.

The day before the parade I read in the paper of a local Prescott Iraq War Veteran and that he was going to be the Grand Marshall in the parade. He was severely injured in the war and in a coma for a year. The crazy thing is ... that out of the hundreds of people there.... I picked a spot to set up our chairs and ironically it was the mother of this man. We met and talked to them and heard stories that made the day seem so complete of why we were there to honor the many military veterans.
