Costumes in the making

Time for costumes!
What fun this show is going to be! A 20' ship on set! Sword fighting, cannons, special effects, lots of pirates and great music!

Kayla is Captain Squire and here is her costume.

I have started working on the leads costumes and they are coming out great!

Here's an ordinary beige coat found at the Good Will and I am in the process of transforming it into Long John Silvers coat. The black one is Captain Squire's coat for Kayla and was an regular blk coat as well.
Shae is Polly the Parrot and hers is coming along great! I used 7 boas to cover a sweat shirt and made a tail that you can't see in this picture. Way fun!

I am experimenting on her face.
More pictures to come as the characters are formed.

Above is Black Dog

Above is Big Jesse but not completed.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

Last weekend, Tom asks, "What are you doing out there?"

I decided to raise the roof or it could be the floor of the tower. Anyway, the girls can stand in the three of the four sections of the play house. The one section was under the tower that the stairs lead to. So, I decided to take it apart and raise it up about 1 1/2 feet. But, in doing that I had to make another railing so the kids wouldn't just fall right off the edge. It became a afternoon project to say the least, but the girls are so excited now that they can stand underneath without bonking their heads.

They are standing on the new raised portion.

Kayla cleaned out underneath her favorite pine tree and is getting her garden area ready for when planting season starts up.

Art Class for February

I can't show too much as the "moms" will see and the kids are working on a special surprise for the moms for Mother's Day. Yes, you heard it right! Mother's Day. Yes, it's a long way away but that is how I think ... way ahead.

This is all I can show ... so more in May.

3D / Illusion Art

Art last month was fun! We made a 3D illusion with movement picture. I incorporated warm and cool color creations with it. The kids learned to make a circle look like a ball and with the background having curved lines alternating in opposite directions ... they created an illusion of movement.
This one was done by a 10 year old.

Vanilla

Shae's hamster, Vanilla is doing great! He is the sweetest rodent I have ever had in my house! He just loves Shae's slipper too!

Ahoy there Matey!

Sorry, it's been awhile since I posted!

We are excited to announce that BOTH girls auditioned for Treasure Island the musical and they both have a great part! Shae will be Polly the Parrot and has a funny part with funny lines. She will have a great costume full of feathers with an awesome face that will be painted all done by me! I'll keep you posted on that!

Kayla got the fabulous part of Squire the Captain. This will be her biggest part yet with 74 lines and 4 singing solo parts within songs.

I just finished making her captains suit and will post a picture soon.

Way cool!
