A Life's Journey

Meet our friends that emerged from their eggs this summer. The next was created by the wonderful mother who worked diligently on this creation. We were so lucky to have this next built in our decorative artificial tree right in front of our window next to the front door. What amazing sight we had!

The mother would rearrange her eggs about every other day. I found this arrangement perfection! She would site on them all night and most of the day. The daddy would sit on the pillar near the tree and they would talk back and fourth (tweet, tweet). So cute!

Then one by one, day by day each one emerged from their egg to see the world. They were so sweet and so helpless yet their mother and father took great care of them. We were able to stand at the door and peek and watch this amazing life journey right before our eyes.

They grew bigger each day and the nest grew more crowded each day. But, they stayed put until it was time.
The mother and father took turns feeding the baby birds about every 30 - 40 minutes. They would tweet their little hearts out when it was feeding time.

Here they are stuffed in that little nest waiting for their next move. The one looking at us was the dare devil and would venture out of the nest while staying on the tree. He / She would hop to the front and the parents would talk to him or her furiously almost as if they were telling him it was time to fly now and leave the nest. He did this for three days.

Here is Mr. Daredevil. He still had a little fuzz on the top of his head.
Then, one morning I woke up and the nest was empty but the tree was still standing with the nest intact. Let's just say that for one or two of them it wasn't a happy ending as I found a few body parts on the walkway and a sign of struggle of blood in circles. I only hope that the other got away and the mother and father were near by to love them.
Life's A Journey.
